so who is more excited to meet santa?

wer glaubt ihr hat sich dem foto zu folge mehr auf den weihnachtsmann gefreut?

Weihnachten ist nun nicht mehr weit, und gestern hats der Weihnachtsmann sogar bis hierher geschafft um die kinder hier auf den Schoss zu nehmen. Und so hat auch Josefine den Mann mit dem grossen weissen bart gleich mal unter die lupe genommen, und wollte den bart nicht mehr hergeben. Der Weihnachtsmann hat ihr sogar ein geschenk gegeben und auf der Prty gabs auch noch Plaetzchen und Punsch und all die guten leckereien. Leider konnten wir nicht so lang bleiben, denn dubi r. musste wieder zurueck zur arbeit, aber das feiern ging abends gleich weiter in der ski lodge beim holidaymixer. da mixt man arbeit mit vergnuegen, deswegen heisst das mixer glaub ich, dubi r. war dazu eingeladen, und wir im schlepptau. Da gab es auch lecker buffet und so und da der ort so klein ist haben wir die gleichen leute von der party am nachmittag auch hier wiedergetroffen, bloss diesmal ohne kinder. Das Feiern hat aber noch lang kein ende es stehn noch 2 offene haeuser auf dem programm dieses wochenende. also zur info hier laed man die leute nicht zur weihnachtsfeier sondern zum offenen haus zu sich ein und war von 18 uhr bis 21 uhr ist das haus fuer geladene gaeste offen, und dann geht man wieder da die gastgeber ihr haus dann wieder fuer sich haben wollen. gut das wir fuer dieses jahr noch keine weihnachtsfeier angesetzt haben ich haett garnicht gewusst das ich denen nen zeitraum zum feiern mitteilen muss, die waeren dann womoeglich noch ueber nacht geblieben oder so.
On wedensday santa showed up at the D.E.C. in Raybrook, since we dont have a mall nearby where santa usually hangs out this time a year. Yeah he took a break from shopping and made it all the way out here in the mountains. Anyway baby J. did not mind him at all and was all set on santas lab which also included a gift for her. Also at the party present were free cookies and cider and all, it was a big sucess, I had to stop dubi r. from eating everything himself and to leave some for the children, with the result that he wanted to leave immediatly. But we only to a short break from partying which continued later on that day with a holiday mixer acustomed more towards grown up's, but baby J. did not mind at all and kept on going like a pro, beeing the center of attention besides the buffet.

i personally had no problem of letting her hang out with other ladies, while i was focousing more on the buffet. You have to forgive me for that but our meals at home these days are just not very creative, more leaning towards big quantities combined with lots of leftovers.

Now i am hoping the ups guy shows up today so dubi r. has a birthday gift tomorrow and we can offically celebrate.

ok whats new? besides snow and the celabration of thanx giving not much.We got invited to a friends house to eat lots of turkey and stuff and thats pretty much what we did. It was a fun afternoon with lots of grown ups and also a handful of kids. Up to this day dubi r. was not sucessfull hunting yet, only one more week to go I won't give up hope yet, but if you cant shoot a deer, at least get a christmastree for us while you are out there. While i am writing this Baby J is supossed to take a nap, but she is crying instead, and the louder she gets the more the bird is whistleing as well to support her I guess? I am reading the big babybook for babys 1st year, and I read it month by month, and yesterday I discovered more very usefull information in the back of the book, ups. They say there, you should put the baby to bed awake and not let her fall asleep while nursing(bummer this worked so well for me the whole time) because this way she learns to fall asleep on their own, yeah they have to learn that too, so she is starting to learn today. Which leads to lots of loud crying.

Ok was gibts neues? ausser schnee und eis im lande nicht viel. Letzten donnerstag war hier Thanks giving angesagt, der grosse erntedankfeiertag, wo hier jeder einen truthahn verspeisst. Zum glueck sind wir eingeladen worden und mussten uns nicht selber mit dem truthahn rumplagen. zu doof nur das wir schon einen gekauft haben, aber der haelt sich im gefrierschrank ja zum glueck vorraussichtlich bis weihnachten. Baby J schreit grad und der Vogel pfeifft fleissig mit, derjenige der am lautesten ist gewinnt oder so. Ich hab gestern im grossen babybuch interesante infos zum thema schlafen gefunden, die ich bisher anscheinend nicht richtig praktieziert hab, hoffentlich ists noch nicht zu spaet. da steht drin baby soll nicht schlafend ins bett gelegt werden, sondern noch wach damit sie das einschlafen lernen, das ist bis jetzt nicht so wirklich der fall gewesen aber von heut an wirds gelernt, was lautes geschrei zur folge hat.

I think my mom got confused and dressed my like a hippie that day by mistake(the jacket and the hat are antiques, I used to wear them 29 years ago-luckily my german grandma keeps everything)

oh ja und halloween hab ich auch schon miterlebt als Geist und hab alle kinder verjagt

nicht viel neues zu berichten von hier ausser das jetzt mit immer haeufig werdeneder regelmaessigkeit schnee faellt, manchmal bleibt es liegen und manchmal nicht.

da muss ich mich jetzt fuer die naechsten 6 Monate drauf einstellen, oder ich geh halt einfach nicht mehr aus dem haus.

so this is basicly what happened lately not to much. we had more visitors in the cottage which is great, so i have actually stuff to do besides baby J. last weekend for the first time here we got invited to our new friends house for dinner. apperantly we can expect some snow any day now, i got my brand new boots on stand by.

also ist viel aufregendes passiert seit dem letzten mal hier? nein natuerlich nicht. wir hatten weitere gaeste hier im gartenhaus, somit hatte ich zur abwechlung auch mal was zu tun was nichts mit Baby am hut hat. und am samstag haben uns zum ersten mal hier bekannte tatsaechlich zum essen eingeladen. das war glaub ich das highlight des monats. ansonsten solls jetzt bald anfangen mit schneien, ich hab meine nigelnagelneuen winterstiefel schon bereit gestellt, aber wenns zu kalt wird geh ich eh nicht mehr raus:-)

so what else is going on around here? not much, we are having our 2nd weekend of visitors staying in the cottage so i had some cleaning to do, which apears to be somewhat difficult when josy does not feel like naping, which i dont understand because i feel like naping all the time, so does dubi r. and she doesnt want to help me cleaning either.
enough about the cleaning, i had my first evening out without the baby and it felt good. I went out to dinner with a friend, yes we managed to find some friends around here, and i also heared that there is another german girl somewhat close to my age around here too and i got her phone number, now i just have to be brave enough to call her. I am already friends with a german couple here in town, so they do exist here too those germans. and there is a german doctor here too.
anyway after i came home from dinner and listening to my friends husbands band practise everybody was asleep but the next morning dubi r. told me i am not allowed to leave the house anymore because it was to stressfull for him, since baby decided to cry and all that.
i think dubi r. just needs some bigger bubs with milk supply and it is all going to be fine next time right?
also wo soll ich jetzt anfangen? ah ja nun haben wir schon die 2. urlauber in unserem bungalow und ich war dementsprechend mit putzen und saubermachen beschaeftigt, josie fand das natuerlich nicht so berauschend und hat daher auch nicht kooperiert mit schlafen und so, was das saubermachen ueber mehrere tage in die laenge zog.
ok soviel zu meinen hausarbeiten, am dienstag war ich mit einer bekannten aus zum abendessen und dubi r. musste mit baby zu hause bleiben zum ersten mal. als ich dann gegen 22.30 nach haus kam waren alle schoen friedlich eingeschlafen, aber am naechsten morgen meinte dubi r. ich solle von nun an das haus nicht mehr alleine verlassen, das war einfach zu stressig fuer ihn mit dem schreienden baby. ok ich werds mir ueberlegen.(haha)
ich hab auch schon ein aelteres deutsches ehepaar kennengelernt, die sind supi nett und wir treffen uns oefters zum kaffeeklatsch.
ich hab auch herausgefunden das es im nachbarort eine deutsche in meinem alter gibt, nun muss ich mich nur noch dazu ueberwinden sie anzurufen.(ich trau mich aber nicht)
und ne deutsche aerztin haben wir hier auch im ort.
ich hab mich auch schon erfolgreich bei einer krabbelgruppe angemeldet um muetter vielleicht mit babys in meinem alter kennenzulernen, was aber soweit ein weniger erfolgreiches unterfangen ist. die ammies sind halt da ein bissi komisch oder ich stoss halt einfach immer auf die falschen. mein dorf radar funzt hier aber genauso gut wie in deutschland und ich konnte schon 2 besonders neugirige frauen ausmachen, die diverse dinge von uns erfragen wollten, mit dem recht das sie ja hier aus dem ort sind. die sind so neugirig die lassen sich nicht mal von unseren boesartig bellenden und knurrenden hunden im vorbau abschrecken und kommen trotzdem rein, sehr mutig oder? so mehr aufregendes gibts nicht zu berichten.

endlich wieder eingeschlafen, ohne die oma war das ein bisschen schwierig, aber he man muss nur genug weinen, muede sein und die mama in den wahnsinn treiben, dann klappt das schon.
grandma did sucessfully make it back to germany although selveral transfers she did not get lost on any airport. and Josefine noticed right away that something was missing, and behaved like it with crying and some more crying until moms nervers were badly damaged and finally some sleep. and than there was some deer in the yard because grandma worked really hard on the gardening and made it so attractive for wildlife or not so wild life like deer, well but wild enough to drive the dogs crazy.
